How did you get started in the aesthetics industry, and what inspired you to open Vanity Skin Bar in Baltimore?

"I've always lived where art and science meet. I went to a magnet school for visual art, and I was just as hooked on science and anatomy. Aesthetics turned out to be the one field where I didn't have to choose between them.

I became a Registered Nurse first, and nursing taught me the part of this job most people skip: anatomy, safety, and respect for the patient in front of you. Then I saw how much a small, well-placed change could shift the way someone carried themselves. That isn't vanity in the shallow sense. It's confidence.

I'm a Baltimore native, and I started Vanity Skin Bar because I wanted a practice here that combined clinical skill with an artist's eye and was honest with people about what they actually need.

Nobody walks out of my chair looking 'done.' They walk out looking like themselves on their best day."

Tell us about your practice and the medical aesthetics services you offer in Baltimore, Maryland.

"Vanity Skin Bar is a boutique medical aesthetics practice at 1509 Eastern Ave in Fells Point. I also see patients at East Coast IV, 1200 Brass Mill Rd, Suite B, in Belcamp, and offer services across Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Harford County, and Cecil County.

We specialize in advanced neurotoxin and dermal filler treatments: full facial balancing and contouring, lip enhancement, and biostimulators such as Radiesse, including hyperdilute protocols for skin quality.

We also offer PDO thread lifting and smooth threads, chemical peels, and microneedling with or without RF for the face and body. We treat hyperhidrosis, as well as TMJ, frequently. We carry medical-grade masks and skincare so your results keep going at home.

Every patient gets a completely customized treatment plan, and education is a big part of every visit. I want my patients to understand their anatomy, their options, and the reasoning behind every recommendation so their decisions are informed.

I stay current on the newest treatment modalities and education so my patients get the best possible outcomes, but safety always comes first, with no exceptions.

I also train other injectors, both independently through my own one-on-one hands-on trainings and shadow days, and as a Prollenium Advanced Clinical Educator (PACE). The techniques I teach other providers are the same ones I use with my own patients, and providing education to both patients and other providers in the rapidly changing world of aesthetics is central to my values."

What makes your approach to aesthetic treatments different from other injectors?

"Four things set us apart: credentials, ongoing education, honesty, and a plan built around treating the entire you, not just one concern.

I'm a Registered Nurse and an aesthetic educator. I never stop learning; in fact, I enjoy and prioritize it. I keep training and studying the latest techniques so my patients get the most current, evidence-based care.

I also don't treat one concern in isolation. I look at the entire face and body, how everything connects, and, again, how lifestyle and health factors affect the body and skin. Then I build a plan that gets you to your real goal instead of chasing one wrinkle at a time.

And I'll always tell you the truth. I say no more often than I say yes, because my job is to get you results, not to make a sale. If a treatment or product won't actually help you reach your goals, I won't sell it to you. If what you're asking for won't give you the result you want, I'll explain why and show you what will.

My practice is built on honesty and integrity, and that's why my clients are so loyal and trust me.

The space feels like us, too: a little dark, a little glamorous, and never like a sterile factory."

How do you customize treatments to each client's facial structure, goals, and individual needs?

"Every treatment starts with a full facial assessment, not just a look at the one spot that bothers you. I look at proportion, structure, how your face moves, and how it's aging.

Often, what you notice is really the result of multiple normal age-related changes happening underneath the skin. From there, we build a plan around your goals, timeline, and budget, and we stage it when it makes sense so the results look natural and build over time.

We make sure you understand any and all maintenance treatments required, how often they are needed, and what they cost, and we build out a year's treatment plan.

This plan is constantly being reevaluated and amended as needed at each visit to make sure you are getting the desired goals and outcomes.

Two people can ask for 'lips' and leave with completely different treatments, because their faces and their goals are different."

What professional injectables, fillers, and skin rejuvenation products do you use, and what do you love about them?

"I'm a Prollenium trainer, so the Revanesse filler line, including VAMP, is my personal favorite to work with in the office. I love it for how smoothly it integrates and how natural it looks and feels, especially in lips and structural work.

However, I select injectables and biostimulators based on rheology and what best suits your individual goals. The same goes for neurotoxins; by offering multiple brands, I ensure we choose the one that delivers the best outcomes and longest duration.

For collagen stimulation and skin quality, I really like Radiesse, including hyperdilute techniques that improve texture and firmness while promoting collagen and elastin without adding volume.

Microneedling, collagen induction therapy, and RF microneedling, along with additives such as PDRN, stem cells, and exosomes, are personal and popular ways to restore skin quality and give it a beautiful glow.

My signature is facial balancing: treating the face as one connected structure instead of a list of separate parts.

For hyperhidrosis, I do an iodine-starch test before treating so I can map exactly where the sweating is and dose precisely instead of guessing. My clients appreciate this because the test and accurate dosing give them a significantly longer-than-average time between needing to retreat because the sweat returns."

What aesthetic treatments are most popular with your clients in Baltimore?

"Neurotoxin for static and dynamic lines and prevention is the everyday staple, along with lip filler and full-face balancing.

Medical-grade facials and microneedling, chemical peels, along with good medical-grade skincare, keep my clients looking youthful and help prevent sun damage and overall signs of aging.

Biostimulators with hyperdilute Radiesse and PDO threads also help the body produce its own natural collagen and elastin as a natural 'filler' and improve skin laxity, tonicity, and appearance.

Many clients come to me to 'fix' work done elsewhere they are not happy with or have outgrown, or after seeing my results online and wanting that same sculpted but natural look.

Weddings, birthdays, photoshoots, and 'I just want to feel like myself again' are big reasons people book.

Hyperhidrosis treatment picks up every summer, and helping treat TMJ/bruxism pain in the masseters is extremely popular for patients who suffer."

What's your best advice for choosing an injector and getting the best possible aesthetic results?

"First, do research on your injector to ensure they are licensed and qualified to perform the treatment they advertise. Focus on the provider's education and results, not the lowest price around or the biggest social media following. This is your face, not a coupon.

Second, tell your provider everything: your medications, your history, your past treatments, and what you really want. We ask these questions for safety, not to be annoying or nosy.

Third, follow your aftercare instructions and give your results time to settle before you judge them.

Finally, think long term. The best results come from a plan you keep up and maintain. If you are not going to protect your investment with daily SPF and a good skincare regimen, you will not get good results or results that will last.

You don't need to spend thousands on skincare or do a 15-step routine to have a good, effective daily skincare regimen."

What would you say to someone searching for the best injector in Baltimore, Maryland, who is considering booking with you for the first time?

"Come in for a consultation and ask me anything: which treatments are right for you, where I trained, why I recommend certain treatments or products over others, or whether that magic serum you saw on TikTok actually works.

I'd rather you leave informed than leave with something you didn't need.

I'm going to be honest with you, I'm going to keep you safe, and I will give you the soft and subtle look or snatched and voluptuous one you prefer.

If I can't do something realistically, I will tell you. If I don't have a device you will benefit from, I will refer you to someone who does.

Once you come in, you'll see why my clients are my biggest cheerleaders and continue to send me their friends and family."
